At the end of February, SoundCzech welcomed a delegation from the Bulgarian Music Association, who spent several days in Prague and Brno meeting with key representatives of the local music scene. The programme focused on knowledge exchange, exploring the local environment, and identifying concrete forms of collaboration.

The visit started in Prague with an introductory meeting at the SoundCzech office, opening discussions on export support, local scene structures and potential future cooperation between the two countries.

The Prague programme included an intensive tour of key venues and institutions. The delegation visited Palác Akropolis, Café V lese, ROXY, Archa+, Rock Café and Jazz Dock, meeting their programmers and production teams. The schedule also included Czech Radio Wave, the Bulgarian Cultural Institute and Studio Martínek.

A networking dinner created space for deeper connections with Czech professionals across the sector – including representatives of festivals, venues, managers and organisations such as the Music Managers Forum and SAI.

The programme continued in Brno, where the delegation explored the regional scene through visits to ArtBar, Stará Pekárna, Metro Music Bar, Kabinet Múz and Fléda / Fraktál, alongside meetings with Indies Records and JazzFestBrno.

Across both cities, the delegation engaged with a wide range of professionals – from venue programmers and promoters to A&R representatives, managers, producers and media. Discussions focused not only on understanding the ecosystem, but also on concrete collaboration opportunities including booking, artist exchange and future projects.

Feedback from the delegation highlights the Czech music scene as a well-connected and stable environment, driven by strong independent players and a long-term approach to artist and audience development.

The mission continued to Slovakia, to Bratislava.

Such visits remain a key tool for strengthening international relationships, where direct experience and personal meetings play a crucial role in opening new opportunities for music professionals.
