Czech Composers at MUSEXPO in Los Angeles

Czech film composers will present their work this year at one of the world’s most influential music industry conferences. The concert evening Echoes of The Czech Cinema will take place on March 23, 2026 at the iconic Colony Theatre in Burbank, California, as part of MUSEXPO. The project is a collaboration between Composers Summit Prague and SoundCzech.

The evening will feature world premieres of new compositions inspired by nearly thirty renowned Czechoslovak films. The participating composers are Tomáš Borl, Jiří Hradil, Petr Wajsar, Tomáš Živor, Guillaume Cochard-Lemoine, Zuzana Michlerová, Dominik Svoboda, Martin Klusák, and Elia Cmiral. The works will be performed by the Hollywood Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Dominik Svoboda, in front of key figures from the international film and music industries.

The concept combines live orchestral performance with a curated visual collage of film excerpts structured into thematic and emotional blocks. These are not reconstructions of original scores, but entirely new compositions reflecting the dramaturgy and emotional weight of selected scenes. The official MUSEXPO programme will also include a presentation of the Czech music industry and a dedicated networking reception organized in cooperation with SoundCzech.

The event is supported by the PPF Foundation, the City of Prague, SoundCzech, NIK and OSA. It connects to the 5th edition of Composers Summit Prague, which will take place from April 23–28, 2026 in Prague.
