Following their first visit to India as part of industry conference All About Music, Prague electronic act Noisy Pots are making their way back to the country this week, performing and hosting workshops across four cities this week.
With a gig in Pune already done, Czech Republic percussionists and producers Michal Supak and Jakub Tengler will head to Mumbai’s True School of Music on May 4th, Kolkata on May 5th and Ahmedabad on May 6th. The duo says over an email interview, “It’s always interesting to come to the other side of the world where you’ve visited before and meet with old friends, that makes it really comfortable this time!”

Noisy Pots’ biggest draw – as the name suggests – is that they incorporate playing pots and buckets into a high-energy electronic set, which also features vocals and heaps of synth and builds on Supak and Tengler’s classical and jazz background. Promising “great and lively” performances across venues, the band says they aim to collaborate with local singers or rappers for the shows. “Thinking of the setlist, there might be a little thing – we added one well-known Indian song,” the artists say.
For the workshops in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, Noisy Pots will offer attendees a look into their “cooking pot” and their entire setup. “It should be interesting to show how to play non-traditional objects, which are found at home,” they say. Outside of the shows, Noisy Pots arrive in India on the back of releasing their new single “Children” with producer The Micronaut and vocalist Saskia Streck.
